english no problem

• hello. don´t worry to much, most austrians speak decent english and you will be able to survive no problem. of course it is considered impolite to speak english to an austrian without asking "sprechen sie/sprichst du englisch?" (do you speak english?) first, even though it´s usually just a formality. it will be appreciated if you learn a couple of basic phrases like "bitte" (please), "danke" (thank you) and "entschuldigung" (excuse me/i´m sorry). good luck!
