Renting in Germany, with a pet dog!

Hey all.
I'm exploring some options and possibilities before I head off to Germany (cant confirm city yet), but would anybody know how easy or difficult it is to rent a townhouse or house with a dog? I hope to buy a place at some stage but renting would be great with the first 12 months.

sorry if im late.germans love dogs and all kinds of animals,i think it will be no problems for you.the only thing you must ask before rented,if dogs are allowed or not.anyway,the 80 % accept animals.good luck in germany
