Why is it so hard to make friends in Japan?

• I am trying my best to improve my Japanese (don´t speak much right now) but man is it hard to meet people here. Any advice to make things easier while I learn? I´m starting to feel really lonely...

  try meeting other expats at first. branch out into japanese once your language skills are better

• patience is a virtue

  mainly you are going to be patient, too. take as many opportunities to meet people as you can. never turn down an invitation. worst comes to worst, troll around a few bars and see what happens. worst thing you´ll do is have a couple drinks and unwind. (who knows, maybe you´ll meet a japanese lady-friend??)
