US Citizen - Living in Germany
-
Hi, im Stefanie,
My boyfriend jimmy is from MS/USA. At the moment he is still in the US Army. But in 2 months hes out. He wanna stay here with me, but we are having problems on getting information. Is there anything we can do that hes allowed to stay here? Or is it better to go back to the States and come back to germany for these 90 days (i know he dont need a visa for that, right?) and try to find a job within these 90 days? If he find one how he get a work permit? He want to work on an army base - is it different then with the work permit and staying in germany? We are really lost now.Do anyone have experience on that? Thank you so much for your answers!!! Thanks.28 jan 2009, 01:02 Stefanie+Jimmy

hi here is the thing...
1. he needs permanent residence to be here. to obtain it..
a. he needs the employer in germany to give a letter.
b. health insurance
c. and US passport.
another way is if he marries you. if he does he is good to receive residency here.
becareful in germany..many have no idea of the laws so do your search and ask as much questions as possiblemarilyn 09 mars 2009, 07:12 - Signaler un abus -

I am going to be getting out of the army soon. How do I get a german work permit? I am married to a german now, but we are going to get a divorce. Should I get one now while I am still married?
