Are Austrians conservative?

• Read that Austria is a very conservative country and the people are prudent and moderate in their behaviour. So for example it’s normal to extend social invitations in advance of the event, and the more formal the occasion the greater the time between the invitation and the event itself. All in all ‘Regimentation’ and ‘compartmentalization’ are a useful ways of describing how they organise their lives. Is this true?
